An Intimate Outdoor Wedding | Manhattan, KS | Brandon+Caroline
Happy 1-year Anniversary to Brandon+Caroline! They celebrated their marriage on May 7th, 2016 with an intimate outdoor wedding ceremony on the their family’s property and followed with their reception at Houston Street Ballroom. Brandon and Caroline are a ridiculously fun couple — and I have to say that they are the couple that I run into the most at local events. (Might I mention that they are all beer-drinking events such as “Brew At the Zoo” or “Rhythm & Brews”.) It was funny after the second time that we saw each other out at a drinking event because be didn’t realize that we could bond over our love for good beer!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for their wedding day — It was warm and sunny, and most importantly, it wasn’t raining! The day started with getting ready — the girls and guys at separate houses. The guys were relaxed and Caroline was surrounded with so much love and laughter from her girls.
During pictures I was constantly laughing with both the guys and the girls — Brandon and Caroline are certainly surrounded by wonderfully hilarious friends! After groomsmen and bridesmaids photos, it was time for Caroline to have her first look with her dad. It was an emotional first look to say the least! After Caroline dried her eyes, she was ready to see Brandon for the first time. Their first look was so cute! The immediate joy and love between them was obvious! I love how big both of their smiles were!!
When it came time for their ceremony, their guests were welcomed with a quick hay ride to the ceremony site! Caroline and Brandon had a wonderful ceremony set-up! They kindly reminded guests about their wish to have an unplugged wedding (which is a photographer’s dream!), Caroline had a beautiful memorial set up for her mother, and they had flowers lining the aisle in beer bottles! Most people would probably question the beer bottles, but with Brandon’s job being a brew-master at the local brewery, the decorations really fit their lifestyle!
After the ceremony came to a close, Brandon, Caroline, and their wedding party were ready for a few beers! We stopped at Auntie Mae’s parlor for a quick drink. Brandon and Caroline had to use the photo booth on their wedding day too! Our last stop before heading to the reception was Tallgrass Tap House, where Brandon was the brewmaster at the time. Everyone indulged in great beers, while we took a few photos at the bar, by the beer tanks, and on the roof top patio!
Brandon and Caroline’s reception at Houston Street Ballroom, was simple, yet beautifully decorated. I mean … who has seen a prettier dessert table?! They served a unique wedding dinner — pizza, courtesy of AJ’s Pizzeria! Because what goes together better than beer and pizza? After the first dance, parent dances, and toasts, the dance floor was open to guests and they were ready to get the party started!
At sunset, Brandon and Caroline snuck out of their reception for a few sunset photos. They hopped in my car, and we drove to the top of a parking garage and I’m so glad that they were up for sunset photos because the sky was incredible the night of their wedding!
Happy Anniversary to Brandon and Caroline!!
