Jarred+Christa | Kansas City Engagement
I first met Jarred & Christa at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort in Nassau last July. Christa was a bridesmaids in a destination wedding that I was photographing. As my husband I were introduced to everyone included in the wedding, we quickly realized that fit right in with their group of family and friends! We spent the next few days enjoying the resort, having drinks, playing volleyball, and celebrating the bride and groom! Since I already knew Christa and Jarred (and loved them!), I was ecstatic when Christa asked me to photograph their wedding!
Christa and Jarred were introduced through a mutual friend while they were both hanging out at Johnny’s Tavern in Shawnee, KS. After a few years of dating, Jarred was ready to make Christa his forever! He was working in Jacksonville, FL, so Christa went to visit him over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. They were having drinks at his cousin’s condo on the beach and the guys were making bets to see if they could throw a baseball off the deck of the 10th story and hit the ocean. So Christa, Jarred, and a group of others went down to the ocean with their phones (aka flashlights) to make sure they could find the baseball when it landed … mind you it was pitch black outside. Jarred ended up finding the baseball and asked Christa to hold it and read what it said … “Christa, now all we need is a diamond.” Jarred got down on one knee and then proposed on the beach while everyone was taking pictures and videotaping!
I drove to them for their Kansas City engagement session. We started their session in the West Bottoms District and finished up at Liberty Memorial which is part of the National World War I Museum and Memorial.
