Nick’s Grow With Me Story | Manhattan KS Family Photographer

The Fund Family and I first met in July 2016 after the Manhattan KS family photographer that they had been going to for a while had moved out of the area.  When we first communicated, Kim told me that she had already had Nick’s newborn photos taken but was interested in capturing Nick’s milestones throughout the first year so a “Grow With Me Story” was the perfect fit for their family!

We met in July for Nick’s 3-month mini-session.  The boys were adorable!  Their oldest son, Josh was shy, and their youngest, Nick was full of smiles, but not quite sure about tummy-time!

Three months quickly passed and we met again in October 2016 to capture Nick’s 6-month milestones.  He was newly sitting on his own!

Nick’s 9-month milestone fell during January 2017, which can be tricky with Kansas winters!   Luckily, we were able to schedule their session on a mild winter day.  Nick was pulling himself up to a standing position and Josh was really maturing into a helpful older brother!

And most recently, we met last week to capture Nick’s 1-year session!  It was chillier than we were expecting, but both of the boys were in good spirits!  Nick wasn’t standing or walking on his own just yet, and parents laughed about that!  But really, who needs to stand when you have such an awesome older brother who helps you get everything you need?  Much like many other 1-year olds that I work with, Nick was not fond of the grass texture, but he sure loved eating cake — he assumed it to be a very serious task at times, haha!

Over the last 9 months that I’ve worked with the Fund Family, it has truly been an honor to watch their boys grow.  Nick is seriously such a happy-go-lucky guy and Josh has become a model older brother — it’s been a joy watching their personalities develop!

At the conclusion of a “Grow with Me Story” I like to create a video montage for the family of their kiddo’s first year — so here is Nick’s first year!  (Credit to Lacey Wenzel of Lacey Wenzel Photography for Nick’s newborn photos!)
